Pricing & guarantees
One price, itemised in full. Once you have it, it doesn't move.
Most of this trade uses the price as a lever — a discount that vanishes if you don't sign today, a number that quietly shifts to close the deal. We don't work that way. Here's exactly how our pricing works, and an honest account of where our guarantees and accreditations stand right now.
The fixed-price promise
The price is the price
Once we've surveyed your home and designed your system, we issue one quote. It's itemised in full so you can see exactly what you're paying for — the kit, the labour, the lot. And from the moment you get it, it never moves.
There are no discounts to chase, because there's no inflated starting price to knock down. There's no urgency — no offer expiring at midnight, no "spaces filling fast". And there's no same-day signature. If a price only holds if you sign today, it was never an honest price to begin with.
Take a few days. Take a few weeks. The number stays exactly the same while you decide.
-
Fixed the moment it's issued
The quote you receive is the quote you pay. It doesn't change while you think it over.
-
No discounts, no games
No inflated list price, no vanishing "deal". One honest number, itemised so you can compare it like with like.
-
No urgency, no same-day signature
Nothing expires to force your hand. We won't chase you, and the price holds while you decide.
How you pay
A deposit, then payments tied to stages of the work
You don't hand over the full cost up front. Payment is split into a deposit and a small number of stages that follow the actual progress of your installation — so what you've paid always matches what's been done.
-
Deposit
A deposit to book your installation in and order your equipment. The specific amount is set out in your quote.
-
Stage payment(s) during the work
Payment tied to clear points in the installation, so what you've paid always matches what's been completed. The split is set out in full in your quote.
-
Final balance on completion
The remaining balance once the system is installed, commissioned and working as designed.
These are the stages in principle. The exact amounts and timing are written into your fixed quote before you agree to anything — never invented after.
Deposit protection & guarantee
An insurance-backed guarantee, being put in place now
Being finalised — not yet active
We're arranging financial protection through the IWA: an insurance-backed guarantee together with deposit protection. It's designed to sit independently of the company, so that your deposit and your workmanship cover don't depend on Eight Energy still being here to honour them.
We want to be completely straight about the timing: this is being finalised and is not active yet. We won't describe it as live cover until it genuinely is. The moment it's in place, we'll say so here and set out exactly what it covers.
To be clear: at the time of writing, the IWA insurance-backed guarantee and deposit protection are being finalised and are not yet in force. Please don't treat them as active cover until this page says they are. If that matters to your decision, ask us where it stands and we'll tell you plainly.
Accreditation — where we are today
The honest position, right now
We'd rather tell you exactly where our certifications stand than imply they're already done. Here's the real, current status — updated the moment each one changes.
-
MCS certification — in progress
The first nominated installation is being arranged; certification follows once it's inspected and approved.
-
NAPIT — in progress
Registration underway alongside MCS.
-
IWA financial protection — being finalised
Insurance-backed guarantee and deposit protection. Terms are being finalised and it isn't active yet — we'll say so here the moment it is.
-
RECC / TrustMark — not pursuing, on purpose
The redeveloped MCS scheme now covers what those consumer codes used to — centralised complaints and free dispute resolution — so they'd add nothing on top.
We update this the moment each one is live. If it still says “in progress” here, that's because it genuinely is.
